Our Prayer Blanket Ministry began in 2007, when a member of our Christian Service Commission brought in her God-mother's prayer

quilt to show us. Her God-mother was comforted by the thought of all the people who prayed for her healing, even though they didn't know her personally. We immediately began to

prepare for our own

Prayer Blanket Ministry.

     Our parishioners purchase, wash, iron, and cut material into squares. The squares of material are decorated and then assembled into quilts. There are also parishioners who have chosen to knit/crochet prayer blankets/shawls. Through every step, we pray for the person who will eventually receive the completed quilt.    

     Miracles are still happening in today's world, because God is still present. Many stories regarding prayer blankets are being shared not only in our community, state and country, but throughout the world. Prayer blankets have brought relief to the suffering and peace to the fearful.    

     There is nothing mystical about the prayer blanket itself. The miracle is that somehow God transfers His tender concern for those in pain through those willing to participate in this ministry.
